Meet our My Place Pioneers!

The beginning of August saw our first cohort of My Place Pioneers join us on a very exciting journey in Finsbury Park! We recruited 14 passionate, talented, and diverse young people aged 13-18 to be the first ever My Place young community leaders.

These young people are on a mission to represent their communities and create meaningful change for everyone in Finsbury Park. On their induction week, we asked our pioneers to write their own bios and tell the world about themselves and why they are unique. Take a look at our Team page to read more about our incredible team.

Since then, our My Place Pioneers had a huge challenge ahead of them. Over the past few weeks, they have received training from built environment professionals, researchers and community leaders, equipping them with the tools to be able to go out into their community and conduct research into what their neighbours want and need from the people who serve them.

Now they have completed the ground work research, their next challenge begins. Over the next few weeks, they will be analysing their findings and putting together a report that they will present to local decision makers. Following the report they will be working collaboratively with local decision makers to co-create solutions for the issues raised in their findings.

If you see us out and about in Finsbury Park, don’t be afraid to come and say hello and tell us about what change you want to see in your community.

The Pioneers will also be planning a few exciting events for you all to attend so stay tuned for updates!
